How can I change how and when 3rings contacts me?

3rings uses the methods of contact you've set up to tell you about the outcome of the events that check on your loved one every day. It works like this:

When everything's OK:

If your loved one uses the appliance connected to their 3rings Plug, you'll receive a message at the end of the event time window letting you know that your loved one is OK. You can receive these peace-of-mind messages via email or app notification. You can't receive these message by text message or automated phone call.

When there might be a problem:

If your loved one doesn't use the appliance connected to their 3rings Plug, you'll receive a message at the end of the event time window to let you know that there might be something wrong. We'll keep sending reminders periodically until someone takes responsibility for the alert (learn more about taking responsibility for alerts here). You can receive these urgent alert messages via emailapp notificationtext message, or automated phone call.

ℹ️ This article will tell you how to turn each of these notification preferences on or off. If you'd like to change the email address, phone numbers, or 3rings apps we use to contact you, follow these instructions.

ℹ️ These changes will only affect how and when we contact you. Other people who have been invited to 3rings as Family & Friends can set their own notification preferences by following these instructions.

To change your notification preferences using the 3rings app

Open the app, then tap Account at the bottom of the screen. This switches to the account section of the app.

ℹ️ If you'd rather not receive the 'everything's OK' messages, you can turn off all the toggles in the Event Info section.
